If I hire Starks Photography, who will be photographing my wedding?

Clients will have both Ben and Amy Starks present and capturing their big day. We always work together.

One word: E-mail. We check it every day. More than once. :)

What is your photography style?

It’s hard to define "style," so we’ll simply say this: Our photography is truly definitive of who we are. We love innovation, vibrant colors, genuine, unbashed love, juxtaposition, and a whole lotta spunk! We believe that every person who walks in front of our cameras brings something different to the table, so we are constantly gaining fresh inspiration through our experiences.

How soon can I view my images?

We totally get it - patience is super hard. Since we hate to imagine you drumming your fingers on the table waiting for your e-mail to refresh every 5 seconds, we have a system that we hope will ease the torture of waiting; a "Sneak Peek" is the first glimpse at your photos. We choose 5-10 images, edit them, and post them on our blog - all within 24 hours after your event or session has transpired. The remainder will be posted in phases (a larger blog post, a slideshow for proofing, and finally, a mailed disc). The time frame will depend on how many images have to be processed (i.e. weddings will take longer to finish than engagement or just because sessions).

Do you book more than one wedding in a day?

While we may schedule more than one wedding in a weekend, we never schedule more than one per day. If you book us for a wedding date, we’re all yours.

Will I receive the copyright to my images?

In short, yes. Clients will receive shared copyright privileges with any photography session or event that they book with us. Starks Photography will only use images from the session or event for marketing purposes (which is why the copyright is shared). We have a very strong conviction about this issue - our clients hire us for a service, and once that service is complete, we believe that they should receive the result of that service. Plain and simple.

Will you work from a "shot list?"

While we will listen to and try to uphold client requests for certain "must have" photos, we’d prefer not to work from a list. It actually restricts our creativity, and forces us to focus on checking off the list rather than the special moments that unfold naturally.

I don’t live in Central Florida, but I’d like you to photograph my wedding/session - can you do this?

Um, let us think about it….YES! :) We absolutely love to travel and we would be estactic to be a part of your day - no matter where it is! Travel fees are customized based on location, so please contact us for more details.

I’m very interested in booking you for our wedding - can I schedule a consultation with you to chat more?

Sure! We usually try to schedule client meetings during the week at coffee shops or cafes. We love meeting new people, and we love coffee, so just e-mail us if you’d like to set that up! :) (*We also offer phone consultations for clients who have busy schedules, or live out of town)

Do you offer engagement sessions with all of your wedding package options?

Absolutely. We truly believe that engagement sessions are one of the most important parts of the pre-wedding process. This is such a significant chapter in your life together, and it’s awesome to be able to have photos representing this time period. It gives us a chance to get to know you as a couple, and observe how you interact in front of the camera. In the same respect, you get to know us, and become comfortable with our photography style - all before your big day. Bottom line: engagement sessions rock.

Speaking of, what the heck do I wear to my engagement session?!

Wear something that reflects your personality. We want to see who you are; funky, classy, stylish, bubbly - your clothes should reflect your character. We encourage our clients to have a second outfit (if desired), or anything else that would add to the session. And most importantly, bring a huge amount of confidence, laughter, and fun. :)

What qualifies as a "Just Because" session?

Anything. Graduating from high school? New baby? Want to trash your wedding dress? Just got a new hair cut and feeling fabulous? When it comes to desiring fresh photos to document an event, occasion, or chapter in your life, you don’t really need a reason - "just because" is good enough for us.

I’m sold. How do I lock you in?

We require a non-refundable deposit of 25% the total investment, a signed contract, and a hug to secure your date. We accept credit cards, checks, cash and e-hugs. :)
